Cornerstone Club (6th-8th Grade Students)

Cornerstone Club

The Cornerstone Club aims to build a more caring climate among students within the school campus and to reach out to their community.  The group consists of students, parent volunteers, and teacher volunteers who meet once a month during 6th-8th grade lunch.

Current projects:

*New Student Guide Program.  A student who is new to La Entrada is paired up with a student guide in the same grade level.  In addition to welcoming the new student and familiarizing him/her with the school, the student guide also introduces him/her to others, walks him/her to classes on the first day, and sits with him/her at lunch during the new student’s first week.

* Caught with Kindness Program.  Students and teachers nominate others whom they notice are going “above and beyond” by being kind to someone.  The nominated students are recognized during morning announcements and receive a “Caught with Kindness” bracelet.
