Welcome to fourth grade! This will be an exciting year of curriculum and activities.

Writing Workshop: You will write narratives, persuasive essays, and informational pieces during writing workshop.

Reading Workshop: You will participate in classroom read alouds, independently reading, book clubs, research projects, and writing about reading. Together, we will read a few of my favorite books including Tiger Rising, Number the Stars and By The Great Horn Spoon.

Math: We will follow the district curriculum, Math in Focus. Here are the big topics of the year: Place Value, Addition/Subtraction, Multiplication/Division, Fractions, Decimals, Measurement Conversions, and Area/Perimeter

Social Studies: Social studies will lead us through the history of California with many project-based learning opportunities.  

Science: In science, we will follow the NGSS units to study Landscapes, Earthquakes, Animal Adaptations, Car Crashes, & Energy.
