Jillian Chingos and Stacy Nelson

I grew up and currently live in Los Altos. I enjoy playing soccer, reading fiction, taking road trips, participating in Tough Mudders and showing my creativity in arts and crafts. At Mission College, I earned my Associate of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. During my time at Mission College, I competed on the intercollegiate badminton and soccer teams. I served as the captain of the women’s soccer team and was selected for First Team All Conference. I earned my Bachelor’s of Education and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. While in college, I worked as a nanny and a tutor for students ranging in age from preschool through middle school. Developing students into critical thinkers and effective communicators is my passion. I hail from a family full of educators ranging from preschool through college education. Through my athletic experiences, I have learned the importance of teamwork, self-discipline, and goal setting, and believe that these skills are essential for success. I look forward to working closely with the staff, teachers, parents, and students at La Entrada!

About Mrs. Chingos

I live in El Granada with my husband and dog, and enjoy walking along the coast and gardening. A Bay Area native, I grew up in Sunnyvale. I earned my Masters in Learning Technologies through Pepperdine University, and one of my professional goals is to use technology to support and enrich student learning. At Dartmouth College, I studied creative nonfiction writing and education policy while gaining my teaching credential. Through the Dartmouth English department, I studied abroad for a term in Glasgow, Scotland. Another exciting experience I remember was leading a first year trip with the Dartmouth Outing Club. During college as an intern, and after graduating as a research assistant, I worked at Stanford's School of Education. Prior to joining LLESD, I taught 6th grade in San Jose at a blended learning charter school. This is my fifth year teaching at La Entrada, and I am looking forward to a fantastic year.
