First Quarter English
Welcome to sixth grade English!
This quarter we are focusing our writing on personal narrative and elements of great writing. I was fortunate enough to spend some time this past summer at Columbia University to work on the Writing Workshop and I am so excited to introduce some new ideas and tools into my teaching.
In reading our focus is on the elements of fiction and we are beginning the year with students reading a choice fiction book as well as working on a class novel. Our first group novel of the year is Something Upstairs by Avi.
I look forward to a fabulous year with your children.
