Digital Citizenship Workshops for La Entrada Students
Posted 11/15/13
Dear Parents,

It's a reality - our kids are digital natives. Most kids by age 11 are interacting in the digital world in one form or another, whether they are texting friends, playing multiplayer video games, or posting photos on Instagram. Many 4th and 5th graders, as well as middle schoolers, are online more than ever for both social and academic purposes.

To prepare them for the risks, rewards, and responsibilities of digital media, La Entrada is having all students participate in an interactive workshop presented by My Digital TAT2 ,  Developed by Erica Pelavin, LCSW, PhD,  and Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet, PPSC, LCSW.

There will be assemblies held for all 6th and 7th graders on Friday, 11-22-13 and for all 8th graders on Monday, 11-25-13.  Every 4th and 5th grade classroom will have classroom presentations between January 17, 2014 and February 25, 2014.

The mission of My Digital TAT2 is to help educators, parents, and students work together to create a community of kindness and respect both on and offline. Their goal is to help students see the power and responsibility associated with living out loud in the digital world while empowering them to be 21st century learners who are ethical and responsible producers and consumers of digital media.
